SMC wanted to offer their customers a market-leading warranty proposition that not only differentiated them from other retailers, but also gave them a platform to generate additional profit.

The brief

They tasked us with designing a bespoke sales process that would boost buyer confidence and maximise their upsell penetrations.

We combined our award-winning products with a comprehensive training programme which was rolled out for all sales staff.

This included detailed product explanations, objection handling and closing methods, supported by tailored point of sale materials.

The results

Every customer is now offered the option of purchasing a longer term as the dealer’s sales team is able to confidently discuss and promote the products.

In just 2 months, our products and training increased SMC’s upsell penetrations from 10% to 40%, creating an additional profit of £11,000 per month.

Over the next 6 months, this is expected to rise to 65% which will generate a total annual profit of £155,000.
