Cosmetic & Alloy Maintenance Plan

Minor dents, scratches, and scuffs are not only unattractive, but they can also reduce a vehicle’s value. In the past, cosmetic damage often meant leaving your car at a traditional body shop for several days, frequently resulting in high costs.

SMART (Small to Medium Area Repair Technology) insurance provides a cost-effective and time-saving alternative for cosmetic vehicle repairs. It gives motorists access to a nationwide network of mobile repair specialists who can assess and repair damage at a time and place that suits them. 

Alloy wheels enhance the appearance of your vehicle, but kerb damage is a common issue. This maintenance plan offers a practical solution to help keep them in excellent condition without the worry of expensive repair bills.

What’s included in the programme...

Cosmetic Repairs

  • Repairs to scratches or dents within a 30cm diameter on a single panel, using SMART repair techniques (including wing mirrors and bumpers) 
  • Stone chip repairs up to 3mm in diameter and 1.5mm in depth (note: minor visibility may remain after repair) 
  • Claim limit of up to £3,000 (including VAT) over the period of cover 
  • If SMART repair is not possible, a contribution of up to £300 (including VAT) towards a bodyshop repair 
  • Repairs guaranteed for the lifetime of your vehicle ownership 
  • Simple and fast repair process 

Alloy Wheel Repairs

  • Cover for painted, powder-coated, diamond-cut, matte finish, and powder chrome alloy wheels 
  • Up to 10 alloy wheel repairs or refurbishments during the duration of the maintenance plan 
  • Cover applies to damage caused during normal driving 
  • If a wheel is beyond repair (e.g. cracked or distorted), a contribution of up to £200 (including VAT) towards replacement 
  • Repairs guaranteed for the lifetime of your vehicle ownership 
  • Simple and efficient repair process 

Complimentary Annual Inspection

As part of the maintenance plan, you can request a complimentary annual inspection of your wheels and tyres through an approved dealer or directly through us.

The inspection includes:

  • Assessment of tyre condition 
  • Inspection of alloy wheels 
  • Review of any repairs or replacements carried out under the plan

What am I covered for?

  • Scratches or dents which fall within a 30cm length or diameter on a single panel and can be treated using SMART repair techniques (including wing mirrors and bumpers)
  • Stone chip repairs on damage of up to 3mm in diameter and 1.5mm in depth
  • If a valid repair cannot be conducted using SMART repair technology, we’ll contribute up to £300 towards the cost of a Bodyshop repair.
  • Up to10 Alloy wheel refurbishments
  • A contribution of £200 towards the cost of a replacement alloy wheel where it is cracked or unrepairable

How do I make a claim?

Simply call us on 0800 060 8610 or email claims@wsgwarranties.co.uk and we will verify you plan number and request photos to assess the damage.

How much am I covered for?

You are covered for up to £2,000.00 worth of repairs/ refurbishments or contributions to your alloy wheels.

You are also covered for up to claim limit of up to £3,000 total for SMART repairs during the period of cover.

Is existing damage covered?

Existing damaged is not covered under your preservation plan.

How long am I protected for?

Your plan starts 30 days from your vehicle delivery date and is for a full 3 years.

How do I get my vehicle repaired?

Once you have contacted us and we have assessed the damage, we will instruct a repair agent to book a visit with at a mutually convenient time to conduct an alloy wheel or SMART repair at your home or workplace.
