Extending your battery life

There are a few things you can do to maximise your battery’s lifespan:

Always follow the manufacturer’s guidelines for charging and vehicle software updates
Minimise exposure to extremely high temperatures when parked, as the automated temperature control system can quickly drain the battery trying to keep the temperature down. Store your vehicle in a garage or well shaded area wherever possible.
Avoid rapid charging as it will degrade your battery’s health quicker than standard charging

What does my EV / hybrid warranty cover (and not cover)?

Both our Fusion EV and Fusion Hybrid plans cover you for a huge range of parts and the labour times involved to repair or replace them. Fusion Hybrid includes around 6,000 mechanical, electrical and electronic components, whilst Fusion EV covers around 3,000.

Naturally there are some components that neither we nor any other warranty company can cover. These are mainly things like service or consumable items, bodywork and trim and software updates or reprogramming. Click the 'Find out more' buttons above for full details.

How do I make a claim?

Before you have any work carried out, you must contact our claims team on 0800 060 8610 or email us. We’ll need to provide an authorisation code to the garage for the repairs to be done.

How do I take out a Fusion warranty?

You’ll need to purchase a used electric or hybrid vehicle from one of our approved dealerships to receive or be offered one of our products. If you’d like to know who your nearest dealers are, please contact us. In most cases, your plan can then be upgraded, extended or renewed.

What happens if my vehicle exceeds the age / mileage parameters?

The age and mileage parameters of our Fusion warranties only apply to the vehicle at the start date. If you exceed these age or mileage parameters during your warranty term, don’t worry – your plan just continues for the remainder.

The only exception is the cover for wear & tear, which applies until your vehicle reaches 85,000 miles. After this, the wear & tear element ceases but the rest of your warranty remains the same.
