Business partnership handshake outside modern premises symbolising the WSG and AutoXtraPro collaboration

WSG partners with AutoXtraPro to open up new revenue opportunities for independent garages

Post date: October 13, 2026

We’re pleased to be partnering with AutoXtraPro to make our XtraCOVER protection products available to independent garages through its digital platform.

The partnership is designed to help repairers offer customers added protection, create new income opportunities and encourage repeat business. The first products available are XtraCOVER MOT Test Renewal Protection and XtraCOVER Tyre Protection, covering punctures and road damage. Both provide 12 months’ cover, with Tyre and Alloy Protection planned to follow as the partnership expands.

Protection products with a choice of sales routes

Through AutoXtraPro’s platform, garages can choose how they introduce XtraCOVER policies. They can explain the cover and complete the sale directly through the portal or register a customer’s interest and let AutoXtraPro handle the sale.

Participating garages earn commission on completed policy purchases, with further commission available when eligible customers renew.

Steph Newbery, Group Director at WSG, said:

“Independent garages are working in a competitive market and need ways to offer customers the kind of support and protection they may associate with larger dealer groups and fast-fit businesses. This partnership brings together AutoXtraPro’s digital platform, built around the day-to-day needs of repairers, and WSG’s experience in protection products, claims administration and customer service.”

What's included in the initial XtraCOVER range?

The initial range includes two products, each providing 12 months’ cover:

  • XtraCOVER MOT Test Renewal Protection
  • XtraCOVER Tyre Protection: cover for punctures and road damage.

Customers can buy a policy and spread the cost over a fixed period.

Connecting XtraCOVER with AutoXtraPro's growing network

AutoXtraPro was founded by Sandy Burgess FIMI, who spent more than 18 months developing the business, with support from IT entrepreneur Mark Styles. Styles and his team created the portal to give subscribing repairers and dealers access to the platform.

AutoXtraPro is onboarding a network of more than 5,000 repairers, tyre fitters and strategic partners.

Access to the portal is free, with no ongoing subscription fees for this level of access. Further subscription options are available for businesses seeking additional functionality.

Sandy Burgess, Chief Executive Officer at AutoXtraPro, said:

“We created AutoXtraPro to help independent garages compete more effectively and build stronger relationships with their customers.

“The platform gives repairers access to digital tools and complementary products, while allowing them to choose how they engage with each customer. Consumers can buy a policy and spread the cost over a fixed period, or the business can facilitate the sale directly or through AutoXtraPro’s contact centre. The garage receives the same commission whichever route is used. WSG brings the product and claims expertise behind XtraCOVER, and we’re looking forward to growing the range together as we bring more repairers, tyre fitters and strategic partners onto the platform.”

Further products planned

Tyre and Alloy Protection is planned as the next addition to the XtraCOVER range, with further products under development as the partnership expands.

We’re looking forward to working with AutoXtraPro as the range develops and more repairers gain access to our protection products.
