When your car develops a fault, the quality of the support you receive can matter almost as much as the cover itself. You want a knowledgeable person to explain what happens next, communicate with the repairer and keep you informed while your claim is assessed.
That is why the culture behind a warranty provider matters. Warranty Solutions Group has now received three separate recognitions from Great Place To Work® UK: Great Place To Work Certification™, inclusion in the UK’s Best Workplaces for Women™ 2026 and, most recently, a place on the UK’s Best Workplaces in Financial Services & Insurance™ 2026 list.
This triple recognition is informed by confidential employee feedback and provides an independent insight into the experiences of the people behind the service our customers receive.
What does workplace recognition mean for customers?
Most drivers will never see everything that happens behind the scenes when they make a warranty claim. Several people may be involved, from the adviser who takes the first call to the team reviewing diagnostic information and speaking with the garage.
When colleagues feel supported, receive the right training and communicate well with one another, they are better placed to give customers clear and informed answers. That can make a real difference when someone is already dealing with an unexpected fault and a potentially expensive repair.

When a garage has found a problem but needs authorisation before starting work and the customer wants to know whether the repair is covered, the technician may need to provide further evidence. Clear communication between the customer, repairer and claims team can help avoid unnecessary confusion. The person handling the claim needs the confidence to ask the right questions and explain the next step without hiding behind technical language.
This is where the culture behind a warranty provider can make a difference. WSG’s recognition offers an insight into how the people supporting motorists feel about their workplace, including whether they feel trusted, valued and able to do their jobs well.
Building trust in the warranty industry
Vehicle warranties have not always enjoyed the strongest reputation. Some motorists approach them cautiously because of something they have experienced themselves, heard from another driver or because they are uncertain about what a policy will provide.
However, warranty companies are not all the same. Their products, claims processes, customer service and company cultures can vary considerably. While poor experiences can affect trust in the wider industry, there are also providers investing in better products, knowledgeable teams and clearer communication.
Trust is not created by an award or a marketing claim alone. It develops through the way customers are treated, how clearly products are explained and how consistently a business delivers on its responsibilities.
The ethos within a company influences all of these areas. A workplace where people feel trusted and supported is more likely to encourage colleagues to take ownership, ask questions and work together when a customer needs help.
This reflects a point discussed during WSG’s Women in the Motor Industry webinar: perceptions of the automotive industry have changed considerably over the years, but there is still work to do.
Automotive careers are now much broader than many people imagine. The industry needs technical specialists, claims advisers, data analysts, product experts, marketers and customer-service professionals, alongside the roles traditionally associated with garages and dealerships.
Creating a more supportive and appealing workplace culture can encourage a wider range of people to consider careers in automotive. It can also help existing colleagues develop their knowledge, progress within the industry and build long-term careers.
For customers, that progress matters. It helps demonstrate that modern warranty providers can be very different from the outdated image some motorists may still have of the sector.
Three Great Place To Work recognitions
WSG achieved its second Great Place To Work Certification™ following an assessment of feedback from colleagues across the business.
This was followed in July by WSG being ranked 53rd in the Medium Business category of the UK’s Best Workplaces for Women™ 2026 list. The accolade recognises organisations where women report high levels of trust, opportunity and workplace satisfaction.
The experiences behind that recognition can be seen in our International Women’s Day feature, where women from across WSG shared their perspectives on workplace culture, career progression and the changing role of women in automotive. Their contributions show how representation, opportunity and supportive leadership are being experienced by the people working within the business.
Two months later, WSG was also named one of the UK’s Best Workplaces in Financial Services & Insurance™ 2026.
Great Place To Work’s assessment uses confidential responses to its Trust Index employee survey. Employees are asked about areas including job satisfaction, fulfilment, work-life balance, psychological safety and financial security. The assessment also considers whether people across different roles and levels of seniority have a consistently positive experience.
On WSG’s official Great Place To Work profile, 85% of employees said it is a great place to work, compared with 54% at a typical UK-based company. The results also show that 96% believe people are treated fairly regardless of gender and 95% feel they can be themselves at work.
Benedict Gautrey, Managing Director of Great Place To Work® UK, said:
“This sector has historically had a reputation for being high speed and high pressure. But our data tells a different story about the best employers in this space – they’re rewriting the rules by making flexibility and work-life balance central to how they operate.
“When people are supported in this way, they don’t just perform better at work – they thrive outside it too, and organisations reap the rewards across the board.”

The latest two recognitions have also received coverage within the automotive industry, including an article from Motor Trade News.
Maintaining service as WSG grows
WSG launched in 2021 and now works with almost 3,000 dealerships across the UK. We have also paid more than £30 million in vehicle repair claims.
As a company grows, it must be able to support more customers without losing the communication and accountability that helped it succeed. New colleagues need proper training, experienced people need opportunities to develop, and teams must continue sharing knowledge.

John Colinswood, CEO at Warranty Solutions Group, said:
“Our people are fundamental to the service we provide to our dealer partners and motorists. Investing in them isn’t separate from our commercial success – it is one of the reasons we have been able to grow and achieve what we have.”
Achieving a second Great Place To Work Certification™ and being included on two UK Best Workplaces lists is an important achievement for our team, but it is not a reason to stand still. We must continue listening to colleagues and customers, developing our knowledge and improving the support we provide.
What should you look for when choosing a warranty provider?
A positive workplace culture is one useful trust signal, but it should be considered alongside the warranty cover itself.
Before buying, check:
- Which parts and faults the policy covers
- The claim limit and any contribution you may need to make
- The main exclusions and eligibility requirements
- What you must do before repairs begin
- Whether help is available if you have questions
- Reviews from customers who have used the service
Reading the policy information before buying can prevent confusion later. If anything is unclear, ask the provider to explain it before you commit.
Price is important, but the cheapest policy may not offer the most suitable protection. Compare the cover provided rather than relying on the product name alone.
The value of a warranty depends on both the protection written into the policy and the people responsible for delivering it. WSG’s triple Great Place To Work recognition reflects the culture we are building behind that service and our commitment to showing motorists that not every warranty company is the same.
